To me...Grandmother

On May 5, 2009, we lost a wonder person! She was known as mother, daughter, wife, sister and friend, but to me she was Grandmother. I have so many great memories of growing up and spending time with my grandmother and grandad (my moms parents). As I am sure all of you know, we are a pretty "close knit" family! When my grandad passed away many years ago, we knew that he was watching over us and that we would see him again when it was our time. Well on May 5th, God was ready for them to meet up again. We were all very sad when it was her time, but I think what made it special was the fact that the day that grandmother passed away - would have been her and grandad's 60th wedding anniv! I just think that is so special.

As if losing a loved one, particually when they are a mother, isn't hard enough. It was especially hard since the funeral was on Friday and two days later was mothers day. We wanted to show my mom how much we all thought of Grandmother and her. Michell, Shane, Brandon, me and all of our kids went in and bought a "memorial cross and rose bush" to have out at my parents house. It was so sweet! Here are a few pics.

The Knockout Rose bush and the memorial cross

We even had one dozen balloons that we sent to Grandmother on Mothers day.

Once we found the perfect spot to plant it, the guys dug a hole and planted it.

The Final Product! We love you Grandmother! You will always be with us!

Here are a few pictures of all the kids playing later that afternoon.

Cowboy, wagon rides and mommy's shoes

Cowboy was watching over Kendall since she fell asleep on the floor.

Kendall loves riding in the wagon her Nana and Pops bought her! She thinks she is too cool!

She hasn't quite figured out how to wear my flip flops - but she is trying!

Holy Moly Ravioli!

This is what it looks like around our house when little missy has ravioli's!
