6 months

Well, my little peanut turned 6 months old last week. After being sick for a week before her 1/2 birthday, she got 5 shots. Let me go back to the week before...I get a call at work from Kendall's daycare saying that I need to come get her because she had 3 diarrhea's that day. (and can't go back for 24 hours.) So I stay home with her on Wednesday and go back to work on Thursday. Come Thursday morning, she had fever. It kept getting higher and higher and higher. There is no way that I could take off work on Friday, so my mom kept her and then took her to the doctor that morning. They said it was just viral and that we had to let it "run it's course and give her motrin." Ha...obvisouly they forgot that I was a first time mom and knew nothing else to do but panic when her fever got to 104.2. Yes, you read it right, 104.2. I took it about 4 times because I just knew I was doing something wrong. I put off calling my mom and kept telling myself "you can do this Stacy!" That lasted about 5 minutes. Being the wonderful mother that I have, she jumped up out of bed and came over to my house at about 5 o'clock in the morning. Needless to say, things got back to normal by Monday and she was able to go to school. Oh - did I forget to mention - Brandon was out of town this whole time for opening weekend of BOW SEASON?!?!

Anyways, Brandon and I took her to the doctor on Thursday of last week for her 6 month well check. The doctor said that everything looks great! She weighed in at 11lbs 13.5oz and a whoppin' 25 inches long! Then came the 5 shots. I didn't think her daddy was going to make it through all of them. As soon as the nurse was done and put her pink camo band-aids on her little legs, her daddy scooped her and up just squeezed her! He wouldn't even put her down to put her back in the carseat. (Can we say - wrapped around his finger?) :) As we were making our appt for her 9 month visit, Brandon was quick to inform me that he was not coming appts where she was getting shots anymore. Little does he know...he is! I love you babe!

All is good now and we thank God each and every day for our little baby girl!

Hayden did not get her first fever until her one year old shots and let me tell you...i FREAKED OUT!!! they tell you that shots only cause a little fever..um yea whatever!!! She ran non stop fever for 2 days, and it was well above 102. Which as you can imagine, never having to deal with her fever before I was ready to get her into an ice bath at 101! hahaha! This only makes up stronger mommies! You did a good job, and thank heaven for Grandmas!

oh yea...be careful at the one year shots, that MMR is whack!

Four year shots are the worst in my opinion...they know exactly what is happening and they give you that look..."Why, mom and/or dad are you letting these people DO THIS TO ME?" It is awful! Only one more of those to go for us...thank God!

She is precious! We would love to come out and see you three!
